Abstract This study examines the perceptions and attitudes of 234 Greek secondary school students regarding ecological issues arising from human intervention in food webs. The results this indicate that following factors are crucial for students’ toward environmental protection: scientific knowledge, relationship between humans nature personal motivations. It was found those who understand interconnectedness populations webs able to evaluate arguments on an issue have positive protection. However, limited knowledge evaluating make decisions solve problems based their perception human-nature relationships. Thus, it has been shown adopt ecocentric or biocentric view sometimes a negative neutral attitude protection because incomplete leads them misjudge impact proposed solutions. confirms development values is best accompanied by basic knowledge. also recognizes usefulness as means revealing worldviews. Finally, web proves be specific indicator studied.
